Tough 2012-13 Schedule

San Diego finished yet another dismal season in 2011 sporting only an 8-8 record. They have failed to make the post season for the last 2 seasons. If they want to get fans to continue buying, they will need to make a run this season.

The 2012-2013 schedule is not going to be easy in any shape or form. Week 1 is against the division rival Oakland Raiders. The Raiders lead the overall series 57-45-2 and have won 4 of the last 5 games. This is always a must see match up.

Week 2 has the Titans in town for the first home opener. This may not be a must see game, but it certainly won’t be boring. There will be plenty of fans that buy tickets just because its the first home game. I am sure the stadium will be packed with others like yourself and full of energy.

Week 3 has the team welcoming the Atlanta Falcons to town. The Falcons were 10-6 last year and QB Matt Ryan keeps getting better. This will be a good game to see.

Week 4 will find them visiting Kansas City to take on the division rival Chiefs who lead the overall series 51-49-1. KC will have a better defense this year. It is a division game and that makes it worth seeing.

Week 5 takes them down to New Orleans where they take on the Saints. There might not be a bounty on Charger QB Philip Rivers head this year, but Saints QB Drew Brees will go after the Charger defense for sure. Also, RB Daren Sproles used to play for them, but now with the Saints.

Week 6 has the bolts hosting the Denver Broncos and new QB Peyton Manning. This is a game that will sell out of quickly. Everyone will want to see how the Manning story plays out this season. The Broncos are big division rivals and lead the overall series 55-48-1.

After the bye week, they will have to face the hapless Browns in Week 8. This may be the least watchable game of the season, if the Browns do not have a positive wining record.

Week 9 will have the Chargers hosting the Chiefs in the second season game against their division rival. Fans will really want to buy tickets for this Thursday night game. The team will need all the support they can get in order to secure a playoff spot.

Week 10 takes the team to Tampa Bay to play the Buccaneers. Former Chargers WR Vincent Jackson is in Tampa Bay now. That makes this a game to see for all fans.

Week 11 takes the Chargers to Mile High Stadium in Denver for the 2nd season game against the Broncos and Peyton Manning. Don’t miss this one.

Week 12 will have the Chargers in Baltimore to take on the Ravens. This will be a good game and a tough one for the Chargers. Should be a great game to enjoy.

Week 13 will have the Bengals of Cincinnati coming to town. Could be a stunner, but not one of the best match ups.

Week 14 puts San Diego in Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers. They are 0-14 in Pittsburgh. Enough said. This will be a great game.

Week 15 the Chargers host Carolina. If Panthers QB Cam Newton continues to be effective than this game could have a big impact.

Week 16 has the Chargers visiting the New York Jets. This has developed into a nice rivalry since the Jets won in the playoffs in 2004 and 2009.

Week 17 will find the Chargers ending the season as they started it by hosting the Oakland Raiders. This game could easily decide who takes home the division title. Make sure you buy your Chargers tickets and cheer them onto victory.
